A Birder's Guide to Louisiana gives directions to over 100 areas for birding throughout the state, includes maps, Louisiana specialties, and contains beautiful photography and checklists of Louisiana birds and other wildlife. The Guide was produced through a partnership between the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area and the American Birding Association.


On grounds, Little River Bluffs has a stocked bass, perch, catfish pond. Additionally, fishing is also available in the Little Tchefuncte River. Everyone knows Louisiana is the Sportsmans Paradise and fishing is no exception. Lake Ponchartrain is located approximately 8 miles from Little River Bluffs doorstep and offers a variety of species of fish.

While Little River Bluffs has 30 acres of hiking trails to choose from, some guests may choose venture off the grounds. Some of the local hiking points of interest are Abita Springs, Covington, Lacombe, Mandeville, Pearl River and Slidell.
